Cameroonian striker Guy Madjo began his English career at Bristol City
Guy Madjo has had his contract terminated by Shrewsbury Town.
Manager Paul Simpson lost patience with the Cameroonian striker after he turned down a number of loan requests.
"He was a long way from my first team, he had lots of chances to show what he could do, but I never felt he was up to it," Simpson told BBC Radio Shropshire.
"We've come to an arrangement to settle up his contract, and with the wages that frees up I can try to get someone in to benefit our squad in January."
Madjo was signed last season from non-League Crawley by Simpson's predecessor Gary Peters.
He made 10 appearances for the Shrews, scoring three goals - but has only been part of Simpson's 16 once this season, as an unused sub in Town's Johnstone's Paint Trophy win at Exeter in early September.
