Telford defender Simon Forsdick faces an uncertain future (James Baylis)
Telford United defender Simon Forsdick may be forced to quit football if his knee fails to respond to new treatment.
Forsdick had a clean-up pre-season operation but aggravated the injury in the win over Gainsborough in September.
"I had a new injection on Tuesday," he told BBC Radio Shropshire. "It's quite a quick working solution so I'll find out very quickly if it works.
"Time's a great healer but whether I can compete at this level is a question I can't answer."
Forsdick first injured the ligaments in his knee against Harrogate Town at the Bucks Head in April. And he remains positive - but at the same time pragmatic.

"I do hope to be back playing and I hope it will be sooner rather than later," he added. "But, if it doesn't work out, I'm not afraid to walk away from football.
"I've got other things on my plate so we'll have to wait and see.
"A footballer's life doesn't go on forever, so you've got to consider your options when something like this comes out of the blue. Hopefully it won't get to that".
