A last-ditch goal six minutes into injury time from substitute Jack Lester sealed a share of the spoils for Paul Hart's Forest.

First-half goals from Brian Deane and Paul Dickov had looked to be enough for Leicester.

But David Johnson's 16th goal of the season from the penalty spot set up a nervous last 15 minutes for Leicester and they eventually succumbed to Lester's last-gasp strike.

Leicester took the lead when Simon Rogers played the ball inside for Callum Davidson, whose pinpoint cross picked out Deane.

The forward gave goalkeeper Darren Ward little chance as he planted a header into the far corner for his sixth goal of the season.

Leicester extended their lead after 41 minutes.

Forest failed to clear Andy Impey's corner, and when the ball was sent back into the area Dickov was on hand to fire home from four yards with an overhead kick.

Forest were thrown a lifeline from the penalty spot with 15 minutes remaining.

Lester, on for Eoin Jess, played in Johnson and his sharp turn caught out defender Frank Sinclair who was penalised for his late lunge.

Johnson stepped up to convert the spot-kick.

Rogers endured a miserable end to his afternoon as he left the field through injury, and to make matters worse his side conceded deep into time added on.

Jim Brennan crossed for Lester to nod past Ian Walker and raise the roof at the City Ground.
