Defender Tom Wynter admits Dover need improved fitness

Dover Athletic

Dover Athletic defender Tom Wynter has admitted that the players at the club need to improve their fitness.

New manager Nicky Forster has made player conditioning one of his urgent priorities after taking over at the Kent club.

"We do need to get fitter and the gaffer has picked up on that," Wynter told BBC Radio Kent.

"There's a lot more tempo to training and it's going to get our sharpness and our fitness up" he said.

Despite Dover having already fallen 11 points behind Blue Square South leaders Woking, the 21-year-old left-back said promotion was still very much the aim.

"We've still got to play all the top teams and if we keep picking up points we'll catch up, no doubt about it," he said.
