Dorchester Town captain Mark Jermyn rues injury crisis
Dorchester Town captain Mark Jermyn says his side are struggling to cope with their mounting injury crisis.
The Magpies' casualty list includes midfielders Nick Crittenden, James Coutts and Jamie Gleeson.
Manager Ash Vickers, 38, may even play in his side's game at Farnborough on Saturday to make up numbers.
"We're hit by injuries and Ash might have to play tomorrow, so we're down to the bare bones and have lost momentum," Jermyn, 29, told BBC Radio Solent.
Gleeson is ruled out with a knee injury while Crittenden and Coutts have been sidelined with hamstring injuries and are not expected to return to the squad until next month.
The Magpies mounting injury crisis has seen them slip to 16th in the Blue Square Bet South, just two points off the drop zone and Jermyn admits the main objective is to avoid relegation this season.
"The target is definitely to stay up, safety is paramount this season," he said.
"We aren't as bad as our form shows but as I said injuries haven't helped, it's just a case of us standing our ground and holding onto a few points.
"There's not a lot in it, if we win one or two games we will be back up there again. If we finish mid-table that will be a good season for us."
