Michael Symes missed a penalty for Bournemouth as they were held to a goalless draw by Sheffield Wednesday.
Isaiah Osbourne headed straight at Shwan Jalal as the visitors had the best of the early opportunities.
Symes had the chance to put the home side ahead when he was fouled in the area by Reda Johnson, but he smashed the resulting penalty wide.
Shaun Cooper also went close when his shot hit the post but Owls boss Gary Megson picked up his first point.
Bournemouth boss Lee Bradbury told BBC Radio Solent: "It was a game of cat and mouse in the first half. I thought the second half was a lot better, we passed a lot more and made some half chances.
"Symes has done brilliantly for us, we can't hold the penalty miss against him. He's done his fair share recently and earned us points.
"It keeps our run going, still unbeaten under me and Fletch, it's a positive thing - and other results went for us."
Sheffield Wednesday manager Gary Megson told BBC Radio Sheffield: "I'm sure when you talk to the Bournemouth people they'll point to the penalty they missed, which was an obvious statement to make, and also they were really unfortunate with the strike. Aside from that they built up some pressure in the second half without forcing Nicky to make too many saves.
"The first half we should have been 1-0 up after 5 minutes, there was a great chance and we had another chance where the keeper spilt it and we couldn't get onto it.
"I thought that although we came in at 0-0 at half time, that we were disappointed we weren't leading."
