We let our fans down - Salisbury assistant boss Harris

Salisbury City

Salisbury City assistant manager Mikey Harris has apologised to the club's fans after they lost 6-0 at home to Truro City on Tuesday.

The Wiltshire side were blown away in the top-of-the-table clash in the Southern Premier League.

Harris told BBC Wiltshire: "Firstly I'd just like to apologise to the fans, a lot of them turned out tonight and our performance was unacceptable.

"Everything that could possibly go wrong did go wrong."

He continued: "We have to use this as a wake-up call.

"We were cruising along nicely at the top of the table so we can't let our heads drop. The worst thing that can happen is the players will just go into their shells."

The result leaves the Whites trailing Truro by two points but with two games in hand.

"The strange thing is it's still in our hands, if we win all of our games from now until the end of the season we will still go up as champions," added Harris.
