McGovern has featured 37 times for Swindon this season

Swindon Town midfielder Jon-Paul McGovern believes all of the players must take responsibility if the club is to avoid relegation.

McGovern, 30, has seen the Robins claim just three points from 10 games.

"The players have got to take responsibility and stand up and be counted now," he told BBC Wiltshire.

"It's frustrating for everybody involved at the club really, the team, the manager, the coaching staff and obviously the fans."

Swindon's last two defeats, away at Colchester and at home to Carlisle, have both been by a single goal and McGovern believes his side have been the victims of bad luck.

"It's disappointing, I think the last two games have been pretty similar. We've created chances and were a bit unlucky," he said.
