Blue Square Bet South leaders Braintree Town have signed Gillingham striker Stefan Payne on a one-month loan deal.
Payne, 19, has made just one start for the Gills since joining the club from Fulham in the summer, although he has made several substitute appearances.
He is expected to go straight into the squad for Braintree's league game at Eastleigh on Saturday.
The Iron have also signed defender Ollie Thorne from Kidderminster this week, and have released Dave Bryant.
Braintree lead the Blue Square Bet South by six points and have lost just once in the last 11 league games.
