Midfielder Stephen Reed leaves Chelmsford City

Chelmsford City

Chelmsford City have released midfielder Stephen Reed, as they continue to re-shuffle their pack.

The former Cambridge United and Weymouth player, 25, leaves after making 23 appearances for the Clarets this season, scoring five goals.

The Blue Square Bet South promotion chasers cancelled the contract of striker Sam Higgins earlier this week.

The Clarets say they are close to a signing former Ipswich Town trainee midfielder Curtley Williams.

Chelmsford are third in the Blue Square Bet South, 11 points off the leaders Braintree Town, with a game in hand.
