Harrogate Town came back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with Solihull Moors at Damson Park in Blue Square Bet North.
Solihull are unbeaten in eight games but Harrogate secured a point thanks to a Graeme Armstrong penalty and a late goal from Jake Picton.
Town manager Simon Weaver told BBC Radio York: "The lads were really pleased about it and so were we.
"Two-nil down away from home, they're in the ascendency. We changed it around a bit and managed to get back in it."
He added: "Whoever you play away from home, if you get a point I don't think you can really complain.
"I thought in the first half we were disappointing. We were shocking in fact. I got them wound up before the game and perhaps I over emphasised that and not the actual football side.
"Then, second half, I just wanted them to go out and play with a bit more freedom and believe in their own touch and ability. Fortunately we played with a little bit more conviction and know-how in the second half."
Weaver also praised Picton for scoring the goal that rescued a point from the game.
"It was a superb volley, a textbook volley," he added. "I'm really pleased with Jake because he's come up against it in his first couple of games and he's come back.
"He's captained the team when Steve Bowey hasn't been playing and he's done really well. It's encouraging for us all."
