Worcester City boss Carl Heeley is keen to build on his side's two-month unbeaten run at Droylsden on Saturday.

Heeley's men have risen to 10th in Blue Square Bet North thanks to a three-game run that has seen them go unbeaten in the league since 13 November.

City have also reached the FA Trophy second round - and Heeley admits that he has seen their self-belief growing.

"The strange thing is that when we were struggling for wins the belief was always there," said the City boss.

"But you are bound to get a little bit of confidence and momentum going when you have gone six games without being beaten.

"Droylsden are a very good side going forward and they play some lovely football.

"But they have had some strange results as well - results you wouldn't have seen coming so that gives us a bit of belief we can exploit them. We are in decent form so we go there full of confidence."

City's good form started with their 3-1 Worcestershire Senior Cup quarter-final win against Kidderminster Harriers on 16 November.

They then enjoyed Trophy wins over Nuneaton Town and Northwich Victoria before their first win in five league games against Vauxhall Motors on 13 December.

And, after another round of postponements over Christmas, City enjoyed a good New Year's weekend, with a 2-0 home win over Gloucester City followed by a point from a 0-0 draw in the derby game at Redditch.

Former City defender Heeley admits that the two clean sheets were especially gratifying.

"I don't think it is any coincidence that we have had a settled back four.

"We struggled to keep clean sheets in the early part of the season. Pretty much every game there was a goal going in our net, so to keep back-to-back clean sheets is very pleasing."
