'Resolute' win pleases Gainsborough boss Brian Little

Gainsborough Trinity

Gainsborough manager Brian Little says he was pleased with the spirit shown by his side as they battled to a 2-0 win at Gloucester in Blue Square Bet North.

Trinity went ahead when Gavin Cowan's 17th-minute header was ruled to have crossed the line, with Ryan Kendall adding a second on 57 minutes.

Little told BBC Lincolnshire: "To come here and get that result is good.

"It was a solid team performance and an object lesson in being resolute against a side who don't stand on ceremony."

The win, which took Gainsborough out of the bottom three, was their third victory of the season.

Little added: "If we can match these then there's no reason why we can't match other teams and we should win more games, but until we can do that regularly we'll still be a bit worried and looking over our shoulder."
