Wroxham's Paul Cook took his goal tally to eight for the season
It was a good weekend for the top Norfolk sides in the Ridgeons Premier Division but mixed news for our promotion-chasers in Division One.
Wins for both Dereham Town and Wroxham ensured it remains a one-two at the top of the Premier, the Magpies doing well to come away from Brantham with a 2-1 victory despite being down to 10 men for the majority of the game.
Gary Starling was the one to see red in the opening minutes, but goals from Ryan Foster and Steve Harley ensured Dereham maintained a two-point advantage.
For their part, Wroxham secured a comfortable 3-1 win over old foes Wisbech at Trafford Park.
The game certainly wasn't as intense as many encounters I've seen between the sides and goals from Damian Hilton, Gavin Lemmon and Paul Cook were more than enough.
Somehow I can't see the FA Vase tie between these two in a couple of weeks' time being played with the same tempo.
Great Yarmouth Town did well to get a point at fourth-placed CRC but there were defeats for Norwich United and Kirkley and Pakefield.
In Division One, Diss Town are still second despite suffering defeat at Stowmarket Town.
The Tangerines went down 4-1 but will have been pleased to hear that leaders Cambridge United Press were beaten 5-1 at home by March Town United.
Gorleston are up to fifth after a 5-1 win over Downham Town.
Away from league action, King's Lynn Town made progress in the United Counties League Cup after getting the better of Daventry at The Walks, while Lowestoft Town have a replay at Crown Meadow on Tuesday thanks to a 1-1 draw at Chippenham in the FA Trophy.
