Mattishall beat three Ridgeons League clubs to win the cup last year
Earlier this year Mattishall sprang a surprise by stunning Norwich United at Carrow Road to lift the Norfolk Senior Cup.
A few months on and the holders are out of the competition at the first time of asking.
Despite holding home advantage, Gaven Tipple's side were beaten 1-0 by fellow Anglian Combination Premier Division outfit Hempnall in the third round.
I'm sure the result will be a huge disappointment to Mattishall, but at least they know their achievements are the envy of many a club and they can be proud of that.
Although the majority of third round ties went according to status, one result did catch the eye.
St Andrews, who are performing well in the Combination Premier, came away from Ridgeons First Division side Downham Town with an emphatic 3-0 win.
The Saints will now wait to see if they get drawn against one of the 'big guns', with Norwich City Reserves, King's Lynn Town and the Ridgeons Premier Division sides all coming in at the next phase.
The draw will take place live on Local Report this Friday.
It's great to see a Norfolk one-two in the Ridgeons Premier - it's been a long time since we've been able to say that.
Dereham Town still lead the way despite being held to a 2-2 draw at home to Walsham-le-Willows, doing well though to claw themselves back after being 2-0 down.
Wroxham are five points behind in second place after coming from behind to beat Mildenhall Town 3-2.
