Nicky Law concerned by enforced Alfreton Town break

Alfreton Town

Alfreton Town boss Nicky Law hopes his side's enforced two-week break does not affect their fine start to the season.

The Reds are second in Blue Square Bet North, one point behind leaders Boston with a game in hand.

But Law's side have not played since they drew 0-0 with Telford on 16 October because of their FA Cup exit and the demise of Ilkeston Town.

"October's been a stop-start affair. It's disappointing but we have to get the momentum going again," Law said.

"One positive is that we have managed to get players back after injury.

"But on the other hand we now have the problem of getting some of the boys who have been injured and some of the players who haven't figured much match fit.

"It's not easy because all the training in the world doesn't compensate for playing matches."

Alfreton face Worcester City at the Impact Arena on Saturday, 30 October.
