AFC Telford United manager Andy Sinton is still keeping a close eye on Dundalk midfielder Dean Bennett.
The 32-year-old former Kidderminster, Wrexham and Chester player could be available when the League of Ireland campaign finishes in October.
"He's still in Ireland, he's one we're keeping an eye on," Sinton told BBC Radio Shropshire.
"When he's finished there we'll see where we are and maybe we might do something," he added.
Bennett trained with Telford during the summer after leaving Kidderminster Harriers and then joined Dundalk.
Sinton said he knew Bennett would be coming back at the end of October.
"If we think we need him in, we'll sit down and talk," the Telford boss added. "At the moment we're OK in that department, but I'm always looking to improve."
Bennett started his playing career with West Bromwich Albion in 1996 and has also played for Bromsgrove Rovers.
