Alfreton Town chase record eighth successive win

Alfreton Town manager Nicky Law
Law's side reached the play-off final last season

Nicky Law's Alfreton Town can re-write club history by winning at Nuneaton Town on Saturday and establishing a new record of eight successive wins.

The Reds beat Vauxhall Motors 2-0 last Saturday to extend their perfect start in the Blue Square Bet North to seven wins out of seven games.

Connor Franklin opened the scoring with a powerful header and Nathan Arnold slotted home the second.

The win equalled the club's best start to a campaign, which was set in 1969.

That season Alfreton won the Midland League, Derbyshire Senior Cup and also reached the FA Cup first round proper for the first time.

But victory at Liberty Way on Saturday will see Law's men take the club record all for themselves.
