Banbury United manager Billy Jeffrey has praised his players after they earned a 2-0 win over Oxfordshire rivals Didcot Town.
On-loan Rushden striker Nabil Shariff opened the scoring in the first half and the Puritans doubled the lead through a late Jason Taylor penalty.
Jeffrey told BBC Oxford:"It's a massive win and we played exceptionally well.
"It was a great performance because they had a lot of possession but we are starting to get stronger now."
He added: "We started slowly this year and were playing catch-up after a less than ideal pre-season, but we are going now and there is a good bit of team spirit."
