Lawrie (l) scored Telford's fourth and Mills (r) scored the third
AFC Telford thrashed Hyde 5-0 to put down an early marker at the start of the Blue Square Bet North campaign.
Andy Sinton's first game in charge could not have gone better as Phil Trainer and Andy Brown put the Bucks two up at the break.
Greg Mills made it 3-0 on 77 mins before a late James Lawrie goal and a Steve Abbott penalty made it five.
"That start was just what a manager dreams of," a delighted Sinton told BBC Radio Shropshire.
"In your first game you're never quite sure.
"You think you've had a good pre-season, you think you've got good players, you think you're making your mark in the club. But until you get playing for real, you never know.
"But from the first whistle we were absolutely outstanding.
"We won 5-0, created numerous other chances, we excited people - and that's the way we want to play."
