AFC Telford winger Sean Evans suffers double leg break
Sean Evans is carried off at the Bucks Head after breaking his leg
AFC Telford United winger Sean Evans looks set to miss the whole season after suffering a double leg break.
Evans, 23, suffered the injury at New Bucks Head just seconds after coming on in Tuesday's final pre-season friendly against a Wolves development team.
He was given oxygen at pitchside before being taken to hospital by ambulance.
"I just hope he's OK. We'll look after him. My thoughts are with Sean at the moment," Telford manager Andy Sinton told BBC Radio Shropshire.
"I was looking for him to prove his worth. We'll get him to the right place and see how he progresses over the coming months. He's got a lot to offer."
The former Manchester United winger had only just come on as a second-half substitute before being involved in a block tackle with Wolves youngster David Davies.
Initial reports suggest that it might take Evans up to nine months to recover from his broken tibia and fibula, ruling him out for the new season but there are fears it could be career threatening.
Ludlow-born Evans, who is still in hospital waiting for surgery, started his career at Shrewsbury in their Centre of Excellence before being spotted by Manchester United as a 16-year-old.
Having signed a pro contract in 2006, he worked his way up to United's reserve team, before being released from Old Trafford in July 2008.
He has since played for several non-league clubs, including Stourbridge, who he helped to the first round of the FA Cup last November.
