AFC Telford striker Steve Thompson deal in the balance
Thompson (l) joined Telford from Port Vale
AFC Telford United manager Andy Sinton is holding talks with striker Steve Thompson but says a decision on a deal remains in the balance.
Thompson makes an eight-hour round trip three times a week from his home in the North East to play for the Bucks.
But Sinton wants to be sure he can maintain that commitment for the whole season before re-signing him.
"I've got a little bit of an issue with the amount of travelling he has to do," Sinton told BBC Radio Shropshire.
"It's all OK during the summer when it's nice and sunny - it's the winter I'm thinking about. I just need to be convinced that both him and I are happy with that. It's still up in the air."
Before moving to the New Bucks Head, he made 17 appearances for Port Vale, 12 of them as a substitute, after joining from Middlesbrough in May 2008.
Telford are also holding talks with midfielder Phil Trainer and defender Adam Dugdale.
