AFC Telford are close to announcing their new manager
Lee Carter wants the "right" man for the AFC Telford manager's post
Rob Smith's successor as manager of AFC Telford United is expected to be named in the final week of May.
The board are making their final deliberations over a shortlist of evenly matched candidates.
"All impressed us with a passion for the job, organisation skills, and a desire for success," club chairman Lee Carter told BBC Radio Shropshire.
"It may seem from the outside that we've taken a long time, but we want to ensure we make the right appointment."
Those in the frame were called back for second interviews. And, as they were all running each other so close, Carter and his directors want to take a little extra time before making their final decision.
Smith was sacked on 23 April after four years in charge, having paid the price for missing out on this season's Blue Square North play-offs.
