Chippenham reach the Southern Premier play-off final
Mings' side have made the play-offs for the fourth time in six years
Chippenham Town will face Nuneaton in the Southern Premier play-off final after beating Hednesford 2-0 in Tuesday night's semi-final.
Lewis Powell and Sam Allison scored in the second half at Hardenhuish Park to set up a trip to the Boro on Saturday.
Manager Adie Mings told BBC Wiltshire he was disappointed with his team's performance in the first half but could not fault them after the interval.
"We settled everybody down and showed what a good side we are," he said.
Chippenham have made the play-offs for the fourth time in six seasons as they again attempt to win promotion to Blue Square South.
After an edgy showing in the first period, Powell settled the nerves converting substitute Sam Allison's cross after 63 minutes.
Allison wrapped the tie up in injury time as the Bluebirds cleared a corner and he raced away on a counter-attack, finding the net before Hednesford goalkeeper Stuart Brock - who had gone forward for the set-piece - could get back.
"I had a premonition," Allison explained. "I saw the goalie come up. Its just broken for me and I thought all I've got to do is hit it in front and it's just a foot race. The goal looked big enough for me to slide it in.
"We've got a big task now at Nuneaton. There's no point us celebrating at this stage when the job is not done."
Chippenham had won their last four fixtures to finish third and manager Mings says everyone at Hardenhuish Park should share in the success.
"I'm just pleased for these players, I'm pleased for the directors as well because they do cut their cloth accordingly.
"We're not one of these clubs who are chasing the dream, we've seen too much in non-league football where clubs are going to the wall too easy because they're over-spending.
"These players have never let me down."
Chippenham now go to Nuneaton who hammered Brackley 6-0 in their semi-final.
