Quinn achieved promotion with Shrewsbury into the Football League

Former Shrewsbury Town boss Jimmy Quinn has confirmed he will apply for the manager's job at Blue Square North side AFC Telford United.

Quinn guided Town to promotion from the Conference in 2004 and has also managed Reading, Swindon, Northwich, Norwegians Egersund, Cambridge and Bournemouth.

"I see Telford along the same lines as Shrewsbury and Cambridge," he told BBC Radio Shropshire.

"I feel it's an exciting challenge and I feel I'm the best man for the job."

Bucks manager Rob Smith and his assistant Larry Chambers were both sacked last week after four years in charge.
