Worcester City dropped into the Blue Square South relegation places after they were beaten 1-0 at play-off hopefuls Chelmsford City.
The decisive goal came three minutes into the second half when Warren McBean turned the ball home from close range.
Worcester slipped into the bottom three as fellow strugglers Lewes beat visiting Dorchester 5-0.
The Lewes win took them two points above City while the Sussex club now also has a superior goal difference.
