King's Lynn manager Boon confident about recruitment

The Walks has been unused since the club went out of business in December

King's Lynn manager Kevin Boon is confident he will be able to recruit a strong squad for the reformed team.

Boon is still unsure which league the club will be playing in next season, but is hoping to gain approval to enter the Ridgeons Premier League.

Having guided the old Linnets to the Southern Premier League in 2004, Boon says players are keen to join him.

"The biggest response I've had is players ringing me. To me that's a great response," he said.

"It's a massive stadium, I think we'll still pick up between 500 and 700 people a week, and there are some good senior players in the [Ridgeons] Premier League who would like to give it a go," he said.

Whoever I speak to I explain it could be Ridgeons One, it could be Ridgeons Premier, it could be UCL

Kevin Boon on the uncertainty over Lynn's division

Lynn's Norfolk rivals in the Ridgeons League have made no secret of their desire for the Linnets to start in Division One, leaving Boon and owner Buster Chapman considering entry to the Cambridgeshire-based United Counties League.

Boon said: "Whoever I speak to I explain it could be Ridgeons One, it could be Ridgeons Premier, it could be UCL.

"If it is UCL I don't think we'll get the volume of local people because we've been honest with them, but we've got good connections out Peterborough way and round into Lincolnshire.

"But the lads in the King's Lynn area will play for the club whether it's UCL Premier or Ridgeons League."
