Truro City name Steve Thompson as their new manager
Southern Premier League club Truro City have appointed former Yeovil Town boss Steve Thompson as their new manager.
Thompson takes over from Sean McCarthy, who left the Tigers by mutual consent at the start of December.
The 46-year-old has had three brief spells in charge at Huish Park over the past 10 years, having also made 69 appearances for the Glovers.
Thompson's first game in charge is due to be on Friday, when City host Clevedon Town at Treyew Road.
The Tigers have been under the charge of caretaker boss Chris Webb since McCarthy left the club by mutual consent on 7 December.
But Truro have only played one league game since McCarthy's departure, the 2-1 defeat by Evesham United on 8 December.
City's matches at Tiverton and Brackley were both postponed because of inclement weather.
And they suffered their third consecutive postponement in the Southern Premier League on Tuesday night, when the home game against Hemel Hempstead Town was called off.
Thompson's most recent spell at Yeovil (his only campaign as a league manager) came in 2005-06, when he led them to 15th in League One.
