Alfreton Town boss Nicky Law has completed the signing of Corby Town left-back Chris Shaw.
And Law said the 26-year-old will prove an excellent signing: "We have been looking and looking for a left-sided defender for months," Law said.
"It is a relief to get Chris in. He is a naturally left-sided player who knows the level. He will give us balance."
Law is also trying to wrap up a deal to sign central defender Bobby Aisien on a permanent basis.
The former Peterborough United apprentice and Rushden & Diamonds player impressed in Alfreton's last outing, a 4-0 home win against Hyde United.
He added: "If I can do something with Aisien, I will. I would like to sign him. I think he is a good player."
Weather permitting, Alfreton face Droylsden on Boxing Day and then host local rivals Eastwood Town on Monday.
