York top scorer Brodie also hit a treble in last month's win over Chester
York City top scorer Richard Brodie hit his second hat-trick in five weeks to see off Hinckley in their FA Trophy first round replay at Kitkat Crescent.
Brodie fired York ahead via the penalty spot on 35 minutes, only for Hinckley's Matt West to level with a looping header three minutes after the break.
After Brodie put York ahead again on the hour, Hinckley then won a penalty.
But West blasted his spot-kick against the bar, and Brodie's last-minute strike settled the outcome.
The prolific, much-admired Brodie has now hit 23 goals for York this season - the last 10 of which have come in as many games.'
His second treble of the season (his first came against Chester on 10 November) helped to book a second round trip to Newport County (9 January, 1500 GMT).
York City manager Martin Foyle told BBC Radio York:
"We're pleased to get through, but it wasn't one of our vintage performances.
"Hinckley caused us a few problems at the right times. These games are very hard.
"If you don't start the game properly and do what we were trying to do in training yesterday, then we make it very difficult for ourselves.
"I'd rather play the better sides. We certainly raise our game for it."
