Didcot Town manager Stuart Peace says his side's inconsistency is still a major source of frustration in the Southern League Premier.
The Railwaymen beat Rugby 3-1 last time out at Loop Meadow but the club remain in 15th place.
"We haven't been able to put a decent run together this season," Peace told BBC Oxford.
"We have to look to get some back-to-back wins. It has been a case of one step forward, two steps back at times."
Peace also believes the strength of the teams in the division make it vital for Didcot to be on top form for every single match.
"You can't take anything for granted. You can play a team at the bottom or a side at the top and it doesn't make any difference, " he said.
"If you are not about your job on that day, you can lose."
