Surrey non-league football preview

Non-league football

After last week's FA Cup excitement, it's back to League action for Staines Town as they head to Welling in Blue Square South.

Woking, who remain fourth after the midweek reverse to St Albans, face a trip to promotion rivals Thurrock, while Hampton & Richmond Borough welcome Havant & Waterlooville to the Beveree.

Southern League leaders Farnborough take their unbeaten record to Evesham. A win for Steve Kings' team could se them move six points clear at the top of the table.

Last weekend's win at Maidstone saw Kingstonian move up to fourth place in the Ryman Premier League. The K's take on Tonbridge Angels at Kingsmeadow, while Ashford Town travel to Sutton.

In Division One, third-placed Godalming Town will hope to close the gap on the leaders as they welcome Sittingbourne. Fourth-placed Walton & Hersham have scored six goals without reply in their last two fixtures, and they'll be looking to make it a hat-trick of victories against relegation threatened Eastbourne Town at Stompond Lane.

Defeat by leaders Worthing last Saturday saw Fleet Town slip to sixth place. Andy Sinton's side travel to Dulwich Hamlet, while Merstham will be looking to bounce back from last weekend's disappointing defeat by Sittingbourne when they meet Burgess Hill at Moatside.

Elsewhere, Chipstead travel to Ashford, Corinthian Casuals are at Chatham, Leatherhead host Horsham YMCA, Walton Casuals visit Whitstable and Whyteleafe go to Sussex to play Worthing.

Three Combined Counties clubs have made it through to the second Round of the FA Vase. Chertsey Town, twice quarter-finalists, will be favourites to progress at the expense of fellow league rivals Croydon at Alwyns Lane.

Epsom & Ewell reached Wembley back in 1975, but it's nine years since they've been past the second round. The E's travel to Wessex league side Moneyfields, while Badshot Lea, in only their third season in the competition, welcome Kent Premier League leaders Faversham.
