Weaver believes Harrogate Town can move up the Blue Square North table

Harrogate Town manager Simon Weaver is still trying to strengthen his side after seeing them slip to the bottom of the Blue Square North table.

Weaver has brought in some new faces in an attempt to turn his side's fortunes around after three straight defeats - but says there could be more to come.

And Weaver is targeting a new striker, admitting: "It makes all the difference having pace and power up front.

"If your forwards are good you have a chance," he told BBC Radio York.

Weaver said he is trying to bring in one of his former team-mates.

"There's a lad I used to play with at Boston and he got a move to Histon in the summer," revealed Weaver.

"Hopefully we can get hold of him on loan. It's been agreed.

"He's the quickest player I've ever played with, so it'll be good to get him.

"There's also another North East lad, a big lad, full of legs, that I'm after as well. And a big lad at the back as well just to shore us up even more."
