Andy Brown is yet to score from open play in the league this season
AFC Telford United striker Andy Brown is still confident of hitting his goal targets this season despite admitting that he has not been at his best.
Brown, second top scorer last season, has scored just three league goals this time round, all from the penalty spot.
But he remains hopeful that he will hit his target of 10 goals by Christmas.
"I don't think I've played very well for the majority of the season," Brown told BBC Radio Shropshire."But I always aim for 10 before Christmas."
Although Brown has not scored in the Blue Square North since the 1-1 draw at Eastwood on 19 September, he has been on form in the FA Cup.
He scored in the 4-1 second qualifying round win against Pegasus Juniors. And he also hit two in the 4-0 fourth qualifying round replay win over against Blyth Spartans last Tuesday night which booked this Saturday's home first round date with Lincoln City.
Before that comes Tuesday night's league test at Solihull Moores as Telford bid to build on Saturday's 1-0 win over Workington.
Phil Trainer's late winner helped end a run of just one point out of a possible 15. And victory for Telford at Damson Park would lift them back to within six points of the Blue Square North play-off zone, with a game in hand on two of the three sides on 28 points.
And Brown admits that the signs are encouraging.
"The last couple of games we seem to be gelling a lot more," he said.
Midfielder Carl Rodgers will miss Tuesday night's game with a foot injury. But on-loan Tamworth player Gavin Hurren is available as his three-match ban does not come into force until Saturday.
