Alfreton boss targets new players

Alfreton Town boss Nicky Law says he is desperately trying to bring in some new faces to boost their promotion hopes.

The Reds are seventh in Blue Square North following an impressive 4-0 win over Harrogate on Saturday.

But despite being just outside the play-off places, Law's side have lost four of their 13 league games this term and have struggled for consistency.

Law said: "I know where we need to improve and I am still very pro-active in trying to strengthen my squad."

Alfreton are next in action on Tuesday when Brian Little's Gainsborough Trinity side visit the Impact Arena.

And the Reds could have some new signings in place by then.

"I have several avenues open," Law added. "That said, the players with the shirts need to follow up the Harrogate win as there are plenty of people ready to take their place if performances dip.

"Gainsborough will be a tough game as they have yet to win under Brian Little and they will obviously be looking to end that run.

"He is a good manager and he will turn things around for them.

"But it is about us and we need to keep finding consistency."
