A brace of goals from Ryan Semple gave Gainsborough Trinity a hard-fought 2-1 win at Market Drayton Town in the FA Cup second qualifying round.
The winger gave Trinity a 40th-minute lead but two minutes later Jamie Haynes levelled from the penalty spot.
But Semple had the final say with a close-range 82nd-minute winner.
Manager Brian Little told BBC Radio Lincolnshire: "I'm not saying we deserved to win but it's the right result and that's what it's all about."
Little added: "You can do no more than win these games and if it had been comfortable it would have been a better day but they made it hard for us."
Gainsborough will visit Nuneaton Town in the third qualifying round of the competition.
