Boston United conceded three goals in five second-half minutes as they lost 3-1 at Burscough, ending their unbeaten start in the Unibond Premier Division.
The Pilgrims led at the break through Marc Newsham's 13th-minute header.
Burscough levelled in the 52nd minute when David Roberts' long-range free kick went straight into the net.
Darren Byers put the home side ahead three minutes later with Darren Brookfield adding a third on 57 minutes to send Boston to defeat.
Joint-manager Rob Scott told BBC Radio Lincolnshire: "If ever there was a day when 11 players had an off-day, it was today.
"I'm disappointed with the way we crumbled and didn't show any passion or desire."
In the Unibond First Division South Grantham Town needed a late equaliser from Rob Norris to draw 1-1 at Cammell Laird.
Lincoln United are still looking for their first win of the season after a 1-0 defeat by Witton Albion at Ashby Avenue.
Stamford lost 1-0 at leaders Leek Town while David de Oliveira's second-half goal was scant consolation for Spalding United as they were hammered 7-1 at home by Chasetown.
