Lewes given winding-up reprieve

Lewes

Lewes have survived a winding-up order over an unpaid debt owed to HM Revenue and Customs after being granted an adjournment by the High Court.

The club have already paid back £30,000 of the £110,000 owed and were told on Wednesday they have three months to pay back a further £30,000.

In the meantime Lewes will continue negotiations with HMRC about paying the remaining £50,000.

The club hope to avoid administration as they would incur a 10-point penalty.
