Slater sets sights on FA Cup run

Slater has seen his side win one of four league games so far this season

Abingdon United manager Andy Slater is aiming to kick-start an FA Cup run when his side visits Ringwood Town.

Having been knocked out in the preliminary qualifying round last season, the club are hoping for an improvement this time around.

And Slater says a run in the competition would provide vital income for his side.

"For clubs like ourselves, the FA Cup, financially, is really important," Slater told BBC Oxford.

"If we can get two or three wins in the FA Cup under our belt, the financial rewards massively outweigh the fact that we're not going to get to Wembley."
