Woking manager Graham Barker was delighted with his side's narrow 2-1 victory at Welling United.
Second-half goals from Aswad Thomas and Guiseppe Sole secured victory for the Cards, who had fallen behind three minutes in to a Dean Cracknell goal.
Barker told BBC Surrey: "It was a tight, tense game. We're a big name at this level and everyone wants to beat us. Today felt like a cup final.
"It's always nice to win your first game, so I'm glad we've done that."
