Marvin Morgan and Andy Sandell scored first-half goals to set Aldershot on the way to a win over Darlington.
Morgan scored from Chris Blackburn's high through-ball after only four minutes and Sandell's 30th-minute drive through a crowded box doubled the lead.
Louis Soares added a third after the break from a cross by Kirk Hudson.
Colin Todd's Darlington side, fresh out of administration and featuring seven debutants, gained some consolation from substitute David Dowson's late goal.
Aldershot manager Gary Waddock told BBC Surrey:
"The players have worked hard and the performance was encouraging.
"The way we moved the ball around and the chances we created was pleasing to the eye.
"We wanted the three points and we got them."
