Nantwich Town have promoted Peter Hall from his role as assistant to become the Dabbers' new boss.
Hall, who served as number two to Steve Davis, has been a roofer for 28 years but will take on the position at the Weaver Stadium on a full-time basis.
Chairman Clive Jackson told BBC Radio Stoke: "It's a very important decision. We're a big club and that's shown by the people that applied for the job.
"Peter did very well and we felt he deserves the chance here."
Davis left the Unibond Premier League club in June to become Gudjon Thordarson's assistant manager at Crewe Alexandra.
Ex-Stoke City, Port Vale and Crewe midfielder Dave Brammer and former Valiants manager Dean Glover were among the applicants for the job.
