Lowestoft skipper Darren Cockrill won the game with an injury-time penalty
Lowestoft Town completed a league and cup double with a thrilling 3-2 victory over Needham Market in the Suffolk Premier Cup final on Tuesday night.
An injury-time penalty from skipper Darren Cockrill secured the win for the Ridgeons League champions.
A brace from Jamie Godbold had given the Trawlerboys the lead inside the first 30 minutes.
But Needham came back strongly in the second half with Danny Phillips and Tommy Smith levelling the scores.
A pulsating final at Ipswich Town's Portman Road ground could have gone either way with chances at both ends but two minutes into stoppage time Lowestoft were awarded their penalty.
Having already comfortably won the Ridgeons League, joint-manager Mickey Chapman told BBC Radio Suffolk: "Full marks to Needham, they are a very good side.
"But winning these trophies goes some way towards erasing our FA Vase semi-final defeat."
