In-form Alfreton scored twice in a minute to secure victory over AFC Telford in the Blue Square North.

Anthony Howell opened the scoring for the home side in the 54th minute, only for Telford to level through Lee Vaughan 19 minutes from time.

But Howell struck again in the 78th minute and Paul Clayton secured victory by adding a third within 60 seconds.

The result means Alfreton and Telford both remain in the play-off places, in fourth and fifth respectively.

Telford are two points ahead of Droylsden but with a game in hand.

Telford boss Rob Smith told BBC Radio Shropshire: "We've got to focus all our efforts on getting three points against Farsley on Wednesday, and then we're back in the box seat."
