Halesowen Town are contemplating a High Court injunction against the Football Association if their imposed playing suspension continues.
The FA granted permission for a reserve game at Burton on Wednesday, which Halesowen lost 8-0.
Talks are ongoing to get Saturday's game against Corby Town approved.
The suspension was imposed after Halesowen failed to reach agreement with a group of former players over disputed wage payments.
In a statement, Halesowen chief executive Guy Simpson said: "We remain confident that we can still secure Saturday's fixture against Corby.
"We have obtained further legal advice and will make a decision if we will proceed with a High Court injunction against the FA in relationship to this sanction, which our advisors feel is unlawful."
