Harrogate Town manager Neil Aspin was delighted with new signing Daniel Broadbent after he set up the first two goals in the 3-2 victory at Hyde.
The win reduced the gap on the Blue Square North play-offs to five points.
Aspin told BBC Radio York: "He did well, he had a bit more freedom than on Tuesday night (against Workington).
"He's not played a lot of football this season but he was strong, busy and held the ball up well at times, and had a hand in both goals."
Richard Marshall scored the first, Darren Dunning scored the second from the spot, and the third went in off Marshall's back, but Aspin felt he deserved it.
"He works exceptionally hard, he started off in one position today and we had to move him into another one," he said.
"He's the type of lad that you can put anywhere on the pitch and he'll do a good job for you, he's done really well for me this season."
Youngster Luke Charnley is likely to miss Tuesday's home game against Solihull Moors with a foot injury.
Midfielder Nicky Gray is available after suspension but striker James Dean still has one match to miss, due to the loss of the Redditch game when a floodlight failed.
"Any home game you look to win, the result against Workington wasn't good but the performance was better, and if we perform like that (against Solihull) we've got a chance of three points," Aspin added.
