Oxford City forward Jamie Brooks is set to miss the rest of the season after suffering a cartilage problem.

City boss Justin Merritt has confirmed the 25-year-old former Oxford United striker requires an operation, and admits losing him will be a blow.

"It's a shame as he was coming into great form as well," said Merritt.

"At our level he is such an exciting player, but what we will do is make sure he is looked after and gets fit for the start of next season."
