McMahon can play either as a midfielder or as a striker
Gainsborough Trinity's Lewis McMahon has been called up to the the England C squad for their friendly against Malta under-21s on Tuesday, 17 February.
McMahon, 23, is Gainsborough's leading scorer this season with 10 goals.
None of the 16-man squad selected by manager Paul Fairclough for the match in Paola, Malta, has been called up for the non-league selection before.
Five other members play below the Blue Square Premier: two each from Droylsden and Alfreton and one for Tamworth.
Trinity manager Steve Charles told BBC Radio Lincolnshire: "It's fantastic. Lewis has played well for a long time and thoroughly deserves the recognition."
Fairclough told the FA website: "The fixture offers a great opportunity to blood a new generation of young players.
"With the final of the International Challenge Trophy against Belgium scheduled for May, the match against Malta will give previously uncapped players an opportunity to stake a claim for a place in the final."
