Torquay United defender Kevin Nicholson captained the England C team as they opened up their four nations tournament campaign with a 1-0 win over Gibraltar.

Stevenage Borough front man Mitchell Cole's 37th minute strike was enough to seal the win at Colwyn Bay.

Nicholson has now been joined in the squad by another Devon player, Exeter City midfielder Dean Moxey.

He was rested for the Gibraltar game after being involved in his team's play-off win over Cambridge United.

Nicholson and Moxey are now in contention to face Scotland on Thursday (22 May) before their final game against Wales on Saturday.

The England C team will then travel to the Caribbean for games against Grenada on 31 May and Barbados on 2 June.
