Harrogate Town have added to their squad by signing former York City midfielder Gavin Rothery.
Rothery was released by York in December after spending two months with the club.
The 21-year old is a former England Under-19 international and began his career at Leeds United.
Manager Neil Aspin told BBC Radio York: "I'd seen him play in the reserves a couple of weeks ago so I knew he could do a job."
Rothery made his debut on New Year's Day in the defeat at Farsley Celtic and Aspin admitted he did not expect to play him straight away.
"He's only met the players once but he did really well. I think it's an opportunity for him and it's up to him to take it," he said.
